11-05-2024: Festivities in Oliva, Valencia
Do people always tell you to visit Valencia during Fallas when you ask about tourism? Don’t worry! You can always come for a beach vacation in Oliva, where we have festivals all year round... and ones you probably haven’t heard of.
January 12, 13, and 14: Porrat and San Antonio’s Calderas. Come to the street market and enjoy a communal meal with the rest of the town.
January 17: The blessing of the animals for San Antonio Abad (or, as we like to call him, Sant Antoni del Porquet).
May 1, 2, and 3: Cruces de Mayo (May Crosses). The city is decorated with flower crosses made by residents.
Night of June 23: La Noche de San Juan. Build a bonfire with friends and dine on the beach, lit by the glow of the fire.
July 20-23: Moors and Christians. Sit back and enjoy the fantastic parades featuring legendary costumes.
July 28: La Noche del Sereno. Walk through the streets lit by lanterns made from watermelons and candles.
Between August 29 and September 8: Festivals in honor of the Virgen del Rebollet. Join us for the procession of the Virgin, patron saint of Oliva.
So now you know! If you’re looking to escape the seasonal beach rentals, here’s a list of activities in Oliva all year round!
